Furniture in a Box

furniture in a box” is the new black in design. It’s all about cramming functional designs in a simple unassuming box that saves space when the furniture is not used, and also keeps your place looking less cluttered and more abstract. The key design issue to keep in mind here is that it should be easy and fast to assemble or “de-compress” the pieces.
Designer John Nouanesing came up with this unique “One To Three For Five (Seconds)” that transforms in five seconds from one box into three pieces of furniture, two chairs and a table.

This is concept Mac Tablet computer. This created by a Designer Yann Le Coroller and computer are called the MacTab. The laptop is an ultraportable concept which fits well with Apple’s image. The designer describes, “The incredibly thin wireless keyboard is used as a protection cover for transportation. It stays in place with a combination of magnets and notches. On the back of the computer, a hinge allows it to be put in a vertical position so you can use Mactab comfortably on your desk.” So it save a lot place than a normal

Fake Soil Saves Planet - Japanese Plastic Dirt 'Pafcal'

Leave it to the Japanese to save the planet by covering concrete buildings in fake plastic. In an effort to help keep Tokyo and other cities green and ease the so-called “heat-island” problem of rising temperatures in crowded metropolitans, Japanese brewer Suntory Ltd. has created an alternative to soil. The motivation behind the fake soil is that Tokyo has very strict load requirements due to its earthquake-prone location, hence real dirt is hard to come by.
The synthetic dirt substitute, ’Pafcal‘, weighs less than half as much as real soil and is made of urethane. When used as a roof garden, it can reduce the internal temperature of a building up to 10 degrees Celsius (18 degrees Fahrenheit).

Magical Glass Concept

(Tablet Tells You About What You See )

I instantly fell in love with this concept. Imagine having a magical glass with you that you can use to obtain information about anything you see.
The thin ultra-connected tablet device by Japanese Mac Funamizu doesn’t have a name yet, but it really is like a magical glass, a window to the world. You look through the glass, choose any object you want, and you can instantly access a multitude of information about it.
You can use it when you want to know a car model, an insect name, what kind of food is served at a restaurant and how much it costs, who built a bridge, etc. etc. Choose a building or a monument and it brings you details of the location and features of the area. You can use it to check the meaning of a word in the newspaper, book, magazine, etc. You can opt for a dictionary, wikipedia, thesaurus and anything else available on the web.
Imagine having this device when you are on vacation or a trip. Such an exciting way to explore new places.

Semi-Submerged Eco Luxury Home - Trilobis 65

it’s neat to feature something that combines the two with this extreme house boat concept, the Trilobis 65.
Similar to the Jelly-Fish 45 Habitat, the floating luxury homes deigned by Giancarlo Zema are semi-submerged. Each pod is meant to house up to six people living at sea while being as environmentally friendly as possible, to the land, air and water around it. When it moves from concept to reality, it will likely be made in Vancouver, British Columbia.
“It is ideal for living in bays, atolls and maritime parks,” the site says. “The main aim of the project is to allow anyone to live in a unique environment through a self sufficient, non-polluting dwelling cell in unison with their ocean surroundings.”
At its longest, it measure 20 metres, and its widest portion is 13m across. Its maximum speed is 7 knots, the ship deriving its power from ballard fuel cells, solar, wind and diesel.
The floor designated for sleeping will have wraparound windows surrounding two single bedrooms and two double, each with its own bathroom and windows 3 feet below the water’s surface.
It’s part of a houseboat community concept, or floating village, which involves a pronged dock or private marina that allows for the connection of five of these liveable water pods.

Can Dell Have a Cool Phone?

Alienware Android Phone (GALLERY)
Dell is not a name synonymous with cool or must-have phones. Their foray into the mobile phone market was a dull range of PDAs, a complete flop. But things might change soon. Dell recently acquired Alienware, the mega-stylish American laptops and desktops manufacturer, known for their expertise in video, audio and gaming. Alienware are famous for their eye catching designs and innovative technology. At CES 2008 they launched the ultimate in video gaming experience, a giant curved monitor that fills the entire of the gamer’s peripheral vision.

The argument for an Alienware mobile phone is overwhelming. It would have the striking design to make an impression in a mobile market dominated by fashion phones, it would instantly be the coolest phone on the market thanks to the popularity of the Alienware brand, it would have the marketing muscle of Dell behind it to push it beyond its established niche and into the mainstream, and it would be the mobile gamer’s dream, just as video gaming on mobile phones is starting to enter the picture. To add to the excitement there have been rumours recently that Dell and Google are on the point of making a surprise announcement at the 3GSM World Mobile Congress with speculation growing over an iPhone-challenging mobile device. Nokia Morph (lastest handphone)

Super cool! The cutting-edge Nokia Morph concept phone uses nanotechnology based flexible materials, transparent electronics and self-cleaning surfaces to produce a mobile device that is “… stretchable and flexible, allowing the user to transform their mobile device into radically different shapes”. All the different shaped devices you see in the picture are actually the same one morphing mobile handset. It transforms itself into the concrete shape to suit your needs.
The Nokia Morph was developed by Nokia research center in cooperation with Cambridge University and is currently on display at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, USA.
